Is what i blame my absence on!! lol I swear that place drags you in and then doesn't ever let you leave without a fight! We'll i managed to drag myself away from there and i really hope that i can get back into a routine over here.

So who's ready for Christmas???? I AM, I AM!!!! Well not completely ready but Hubby and I have the bulk of the kids gifts bought alread and i'm super excited about that. Here is a pic of our itty bitty tree....




Now on to scrappy news....my favorite scrapbook group (from myspace) has been moved to and it's even more fabulous over here!! Anywho....I did this layout for a "can you fold a corner" challenge

super productive weekend

for me!!!! Between Miss Hollys scrap-a-thon and JuJu Bee's on-line crop I got a whopping 12 layouts done over the weekend!! I really really wanna thank the DT over @ JuJu Bee's scrapbook corner for putting together this amazingly fun on-line crop....so thank you ladies!! It has been my best on-line crop experience yet.

is this fantabulous scrappy forum that i have recently joined and i'm here to spread the word!!! What kind of fun you ask....well, there is an on-line crop & a blog buzz (bee's don't hop) in the works for this month. Shot Luge Birthday

Ray & I celebrated our 30th birthdays & our 10 year wedding anniversary this past Saturday!!! We had a shot luge and lots of fun. Here are a few pics i thought i'd share. Needless to say all day Sunday i was grounded to the couch with the hangover from hell!!! It was all good fun tho. I hope to get back into a scrappy groove soon, with kids back in school i've been hitting the sack way earlier than normal which leaves me with very little time to scrap anymore. =[

Down the Hatch!!

This is a layout i did for Sketch 26 over @ http://thescrappiest.blogspot.com /2009/08/sketch-26.html (I still can't figure out the clicky thing) I really like how it turned out. My kids wondered why i used birds on a page of dad tho. I hope to start doing these sketches every week. It was fun!!!

Carbon Monoxide

We had the biggest scare around here. Saturday about 1:30am Ray and I were layin on the sofas in the living room when the loud chirpping alarm went off. We knew what it was but didn't know what to do. We shut off the central air, opened all the windows and doors then called 911. We went out and waited in our garage until we heard the fire truck rollin down the street. The came in with their portable carbon monoxide dectector, the reading in the living room (where the alarm is & where we were) was reading 0. But that's because we opened the house and the fresh clean air came in and cleared it out. It was reading high in our basement by the waterheater. Fire dept. left about 2:30am and we had the all clear to go to sleep. So we did. Next day we called our landlord and he had consumers energy (our gas co) come out and check things out. He didn't get any reading down by the water heater, he did get a small reading by my dryer (my vent became loose~ we fixed that), then the came up and checked by our oven. We have a very old oven that is build into a brick wall, the gas guy said that is/was our problem. He was told he had to shut off the gas to my oven before he could leave. The landlord has the oven torn apart and who knows how long it will be before it's fixed and i'll be able to cook in there.

I have to say i'd much rather be livin without my oven than not livin myself.

If you don't have a carbon monoxide dectector please please go out and buy one. They are well worth the money!!

Kid-Free Weekend!!

What's that i hear.........that's right, NOTHING!!! lol

My mother came and picked up the 3 kiddos about 2 hours ago and they headed about 3 hours up north!! They will be home sometime late tomorrow evening, yes i'll miss them all but i won't miss the constant fighting between them all.

Since the house is quiet and DH and I don't have the extra money to go out and party, i think it will be a scrappy weekend for Rissa!! YAY!!!!

I have recently joined a new scrapbook forum called JU JU Bee's Scrapbook Corner (here's the link-- http://jujubeesscrapbookcorner.com/forum/index.php?sid=aaa03fa6304f682f19538d2eb5f94a69 ) I've jumped on in over there with answering posts and introducing myself. The ladies there seem really nice, i hope to make some good scrappy friends. I'm going to try and get involved in some of the challenges. I'll post whatever i get finished over this quiet weekend probably Monday.

Tuesday Updates!!

Let me start by saying sorry for my absence around here. I thought i was getting better but i guess not. Anyway, Ray & I hosted our annual family reunion a couple weekends ago, it turned out really nice. I had an awesome time. Here are a couple pics this is Ray (my DH) cookin our awesome food on the biggest grill ever!!

I've been MIA

I haven't been on in forever! So sorry about that. I've completed quite a few challenges and currently i am in a "hell week" scrap-a-thon with one week left to go. Just thought i would pop in and let you know that i was still alive =] i will try my hardest to post some of my most recent stuff by the end of the weekend.

the air is on...

our central air that is. I was really hoping not to have to turn it on so much, but this is our 1st summer in this house and the air flow isn't happenin so to be comfy we had to turn on the air.

So let me tell ya, we had a crop @ Just Scrappin over the weekend there were lots of fun challenges and a game of hot potato or stickles! lol If we wanted to steal the stickles we had to share a summer memory from our childhood. I got to find out some fun stuff about my scrappy friends!

K, so this layout was for Aymees X-mas challenge in honor of Leon Day. It also pulled double duty for Pamelas sketch 145 over @ scrapbook challenges in myspace world. Here is the sketch




Now this layout also pulled double duty. For Kerris sizzlin summmer sketch challenge where we had to include a sun & also for my envelope of treasure swap layout.

Kerri also had a Beach Ball fun challenge goin on where we had to use every color from a beach ball

The molecular formula....haha H2O Kerri challenged us to make a layout that had water in it some where. This was also Sketch 148 over in Pamelas group Scrapbook Challenges




One more fun one by Kerri called stamp em and stomp em. We needed to include a bug of some kind and some stampin!


Carol had a couple fun challenges too. Both had to do with cows....she wanted us to make a card with something pertaining to COWS. So i found this cow image on-line and had at it.


She also had a challenge to either make a layout with cow colors or use a black and white photo or even both. I decided on just a black and white photo. I did double dip this challenge with one that Holly had going on in myspace called button-up

That's all i got done for the crop, there is one more challenge that Cee is hosting but we have until Wednesday to complete. So look for that later.

This next layout was done for challenge in different myspace groups. This challenge was hosted by one of my FAVORITE MYSPACE FRIENDS Kalena. She wanted us to dig out a tool that we'd never used and finally use it, she also gave us a sketch to use.

I think that is everything!!!! WOW =] Thanks for stickin with me the whole post. All these pages also count toward my 92 days of summer...i'm at 18 pages so far. I'm about 5 behind so i need to knock out a few more asap

Proud Momma

So before i get to my scrappy stuff i just have to take a minute and brag about my Miss Nicole. Nicole is our oldest daughter she will be 11 and she has just graduated from elem school to the middle school. She was awarded with many honors today which included...honor roll, spelling, reading achievement, A in math award, cizitenship & best in science!! Congrats Girly =] Daddy & I are so proud of you.

Lazy Sunday

Hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Weekend!! I know i am, we didn't get to take off and go camping like usual but we have been enjoying things around the area. We've went to the driving range, the park for a picnic, had people over for a bbq and watch the basketball game. So today we are kinda just hangin out at home. We will order pizza tonight cuz i'm not in any mood to cook and tomorrow will be the big bbq day. That's pretty much what's happenin around here. Have a great weekend!!!!!

My 1st Spoolie

I've been wanting to try this for a while now and i finally got up the courage to do it yesterday while watching The Detroit Red Wings Game!! (woohooo go wings) As my 1st try i think it turned out pretty good, i am giving it to my aunt so i don't have pics in it yet but after she gives me some to choose from i'll add those and some small embllies. OK OK here it is.........................................

This challenge got me to step outside my comfort zone, it was tough but i'm loving the finished product!


and this last one was for a 1 hour challenge over at JustScrappin. The one hour challenges are so much fun and i look forward to them every month!!


Well that's pretty much it for me. I hope to be able to knock out a few challenges and sketches from Scrapbook Challenges over in myspace land tonight but who knows what i'll actually do!!!
